Office 2019 is Officially available for Download for Windows and Mac

On Sep 24th, Microsoft officially announced and made available, the successor to the Office 2016, Microsoft Office 2019 to the trusted commercial customer (yet to be made available for all the consumers, probably, in coming weeks). Microsoft Office 2019 is a one-time purchase, which means you don’t have to worry about doing monthly payments like in Office 365 subscription plans.

Office 2019 is an on-premises Office suites version including the classic version of Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. However, the Mac Office 2019 suites will be missing Publisher 2019, Project 2019, Access 2019, and Visio 2019, which the Windows users will be enjoying.

The Microsoft Office 2019 announcement is for those who are not yet into Office 365 cloud-based subscription plans. And this brings a frown of disapproval after hearing that the Office 2019 won’t be receiving the major updates like Office 365’s, of course, there will be security updates and fixes, and there will be only 5 years of mainstream support (instead 10 years of support like in earlier version) and 2 years of extended support!

Though the brand new Office 2019 might now have many features as Office 365, it sure outdoes the Office 2016. Word has now better inking functionality, speech feature and black theme. Powerpoint has now better morph transitions, supports 4K video, improved roaming pencil case, and ability to insert & manage SVG, icons and 3D models. Outlook has now updated contact cards, supports Office 365 groups, mentions and has focused inbox. Similarly, Excel has updated funnel charts, timelines, 2D maps, and PowerPivot enhancements.

However, OneNote 2019 is free and available to everyone outside the Office 2019 download suites.
