Following the massive success of X9b — the phone sold out completely in the first week, Honor has now brought X8b to Nepal.
This mid-range phone was first announced in December of last year and is positioned between X8 and X9b.
So, let’s explore the Honor X8b in more detail, including its specs, features, pricing, and availability.

Design
Looking at the Honor X8b, the first thing that caught our eyes is the design.
The phone has a Dynamic Island-like pill-shaped enclosure for the 50MP front camera and accompanying selfie light, which is called the ‘Magic Capsule.’
It can display notifications and real-time system information, just like its Apple counterpart.
This, paired with the flat edge design, really makes it look like an iPhone. It is both a good and a bad thing, depending on the person you ask.
I personally don’t see any problem with Honor taking some inspiration from the biggest smartphone brand out there.
At the back, you get a rectangular camera module with rounded corners housing the triple camera setup.
The back is plastic like the rest of the phone. However, the Glamorous Green variant has a leather-like texture on top, giving it a premium look and feel.
Honor offers the X9b in two more colorways — Titanium Silver and Midnight Black. The former has a shiny surface, whereas the latter brings a matte black finish.
Display
The phone is built around a 6.7-inch 90Hz AMOLED display with 100% DCI-P3 color coverage.
It is an FHD+ screen with a 20.1:9 aspect ratio. The bezels are slim, contributing to a 93.7% screen-to-body ratio.
Moreover, it is a super bright screen capable of 1200 nits under High Brightness Mode and peaking at 2000 nits. There are 4096-level of screen brightness levels.
Honor X9b also has a TUV Rheinland flicker-free certified display, thanks to the 3240Hz PWM Dimming.
Performance and Memory
Under the hood, the phone brings the Snapdragon 680 chipset. Based on my experience with this processor, I don’t expect the Honor X8b to be a performance beast — even in its price range.
So, gamers might have to look away. The phone should handle day-to-day tasks and normal multitasking.
You don’t have to worry about insufficient memory as it comes with 8GB of RAM. You can choose from 128GB, 256GB, and 512GB storage options. Plus, you can assign up to 8GB of internal storage as virtual memory.
As for storage, the phone ships with MagicOS 7.2, based on Android 13. There is no official information on the number of software updates the phone will get.
Camera
The triple camera setup on the back is led by a 108MP primary camera. It has an f/1.75 aperture lens. Likewise, it can capture 1080p videos.
This is paired with a 5MP ultrawide and a 2MP macro camera. Over on the front, you get a 50MP selfie shooter with its own LED light, as I mentioned earlier.
The video capability is again capped at 1080p. Other than for selfies and videos, the front-facing camera also comes in handy for 2D face unlock.
Battery and Biometrics
Honor X9b gets its juice from a 4,500mAh battery and supports 35W wired fast charging. The phone has a side-mounted fingerprint scanner for biometrics.
