The 8th Asian Pacific Conference of Young Scientists (APCYS) – 2019 was held in Russia from 14th October to 20th October. Students under the age of 18, representing 12 Nations took part in the competition with their project. A total of nine students from Nepal were in the competition. Swaraj Sagar Pradhan, led by Professor Doctor Rameshwor Adhikary, and his team have won the Gold Medal under the Physics category.
Last year, Swaraj Sagar Pradhan brought us the Silver Medal from the 7th Asian Pacific Conference of Young Scientists-2018 held in Thailand.
But this time, he and his team have secured the Gold Medal with the project, “Use of Micro Satellite for Global Connectivity, High-Speed Data Transmission, and Data Analysis“.
According to Swaraj, the concept of “Use of Micro Satellite for Global Connectivity, High-Speed Data Transmission, and Data Analysis” was initiated 1.5 years ago under the mentorship of Suresh Bhattarai at NASO. After that Swaraj Sagar, Upendra Dhungana and his team were working on the project. In addition that, involvement in the Battle Robot/ Dari Gang Science campaign has also helped him to set this milestone.
They have presented their early project in front of the Prime Minister on Science Information and Technology National Youth Conference.
