In an event in Hangzhou, China on Dec 26 Oppo released its Reno 3 series along with other devices, one of them is Enco Free earphones which is Oppo’s first-ever true wireless earphones. With the launch of these earphones, Oppo has just joined the race of wearables. But it’s already 2020 and it’s late because Oppo’s contenders like Huawei, Samsung, Apple, and Xiaomi have already entered the race early and left their mark whether its smart band, smartwatch or wireless earphones. Design, Fit and build

The design of the earphones is a lot similar to the second generation of AirPods and also a bit like Mi AirDots Pro2. The Enco Free has a long stem (Just like Realme Buds Air). Enco Free has a half in-ear design which means it can be worn without silicone tips and also with silicone tips that come along with the earphones. These semi-in-ear silicone tips come in 3 three sizes to fit your ears properly so that you can choose any one that fits your ear and jams your ear canal perfectly.

These earphones are very comfortable to wear and sits in your just perfectly. Each earphone carries about 4.6g of weight and is IPX4 certified. So yeah, you can rock it even during your gym sessions, workout time, or during other activities which makes you sweat.

Coming to the design of the charging case, it has smooth round curved edges which makes it easier to hold and goes really well when you keep it in your pocket. It is a bit rectangular in shape and has an LED indicator along with a Type-C reversible connector.

The radium strip-like straight line is also placed in the middle of the charging case where the company’s logo and LED indicator are placed. The overall design of the charging case is really minimalistic and appealing to the eyes.

Sound Quality and Features

Oppo Enco Free is packed with 13.4 ultra-dynamic drivers and dual magnetic which delivers really nice sound. The treble is just good, the bass feels really good and the vocal and instrumentals sounds just clear. The sound quality of these earphones is just amazing. Enco free also sports dual microphone with AI Noise reduction algorithm integrated into it which helps to improve call quality.

Oppo Enco Free also supports touch controls, you just will have to slide up and down to adjust the volume of the music on the left stem of the earphone whereas you can swipe up and down to change tracks on the right stem of the earphone. To make answering/ending calls or pause/play music you can just double-tap on either side of the earphone’s stem. Enco free also supports Instant connect or seamless connectivity to say in which the earphones connect to your paired smartphone automatically right after you open the charging case.

Not just this, Enco Free also comes with wearing detecting sensors that automatically pauses music when the earphone is removed from the ear and also can automatically play music when put in ear. The same goes for answering/ending calls also.

Battery and connectivity

To deliver power, Oppo Enco Free’s each earphone comes with a 31mAh battery to deliver power. With the help of these batteries, Oppo Enco Free can give up to 3 hours of music playback and 3 hours of call time. With the case that packs 410mAh of battery, you can get 25 hours of music playback time and 15 hours of call time as claimed by the company. Even if the juice drains, you can charge it via Type-C connector. The company claims that it would take 110 minutes to charge the case and 70 mins to charge the earphones.

Oppo Enco Free comes with Bluetooth 5.0 and can provide a range of 10 meters. The company also claims to have a minimum latency of 120ms in Enco Free because of “Bluetooth low-latency dual-pass”. It can connect to both Android and iSO devices.
