OPPO A5 2020 with Quad-Camera & 5000mAh battery launches in Nepal for Rs. 27,990

Oppo A5 2020 smartphone was launched on 23^rd September 2019 along with Oppo A9 2020. Oppo has been doing great with its A-series smartphone. The company has now brought new Oppo A5 2020 as a successor of its previous A-series phones.  The Oppo A5 2020 goes competent with its aggressive Rs 27,990 price in Nepal and expects to compete with other mid-range budget smartphones for the best valued under 30000 mid-range smartphone.

Display & Design

As for the display Oppo A5 2020 smartphone features an IPS LCD display. The screen has a resolution of 720×1600 pixels and 270-PPI. The screen has a peak brightness of 480 nits. For protection against scratches, the phonies equipped with Corning Gorilla Glass. Oppo A5 2020 comes in two color options: Mirror black & Dazzling white.

 Oppo A5 2020 has a sleek design with rounded corners for better ergonomics. It has quite thin bezels for a smartphone at this price. It also has a water-drop notch that holds the front camera and if we move around the back, the device has a reflective back that imitates glass which houses quad camera setup.

Quad camera setup & a Water-drop notch

In the camera department, Oppo A5 2020 offers a quad camera setup. It comes in 12MP + 8MP + 2MP + 2MP configuration. 12MP serves as a primary camera, 8MP as Ultra-wide-angle, 2MP as depth sensor and another 2MP as Telephoto lens. These cameras can also record videos in 4K resolution with good stability and also has Ultra Night Mode to snap better photos at night.

As for the front camera selfie shooter, Oppo A5 2020 has an 8MP HDR camera sensor which is housed on a water-drop notch. This front camera can also record videos on 1080p at 30 frames per second.

Performance & Software

Oppo A5 2020 currently operates Android 9.0 Pie instead of Android 10 and is also skinned with its ColorOS 6.0.1. The ColorOS still needs a lot of work because the experience which it offers is not good as in comparison to other smartphones OS skin such as Samsung’s One UI or Huawei’s EMUI.

For performance, it is powered by Qualcomm’s Snapdragon 665 chipset which is not the latest and is not better than other new chipsets. Gaming is taken care off by Adreno 610 GPU which gives an average gaming performance.  It comes with 3GB of RAM and 64 GB or 4GB RAM with 128GB of internal storage which can be expanded further via microSD card slot if you need more storage. Overall, you can expect an average performance from this smartphone.

Battery

Oppo’s budget phone doesn’t compromise on battery at all. The battery that is packed in Oppo A5 2020 for power backup is a 5,000 mAh battery which is expected to last through a day and a half in normal use or normal mode. This smartphone can charge another phone or can be charged by another phone through its Reverse Charging feature.

Oppo A5 2020 Price in Nepal

The Oppo A5 2020 has already been launched in Nepal on 23^rd September and has a price tag of Rs 27,990 for 4/128GB variant. It is not the best-valued phone at this price but sure attempts to give a competition against Realme 5, Redmi Note 7 Pro, and Xiaomi Mi A3.
