Samsung announced the A15 5G towards the end of last year as the latest addition to its A-series. The phone has now landed in Nepal.
So, let’s take a look at the Samsung Galaxy A14 5G in more detail, including its specs, features, price, and availability in Nepal.

Samsung Galaxy A15 5G: Everything you need to know
The Galaxy A15 5G is the successor to last year’s Galaxy A14 5G. The phone was a massive hit in the European and American markets because of its price tag.
That said, the phone had some major drawbacks, which the company is trying to improve with the Galaxy A15.
New AMOLED Display
A major complaint that we had with the Galaxy A14 5G was its display – while the new Redmi Note devices were getting a higher refresh rate AMOLED panel, Samsung stuck with a dull LCD panel.
Fortunately, Samsung has fixed that with its successor. The new Galaxy A15 5G now features a Super AMOLED panel, resulting in more vibrant colors.
It is backed by the Vision Booster technology that allows the brightness to go up to 800 nits. Thus, the screen has gotten brighter, too.
The rest of the specs are somewhat the same. You are getting a 6.5-inch panel with FHD+ resolution and 90Hz refresh rate.
Same Old Design
Samsung has not bothered to upgrade the waterdrop style of the A14 5G. Likewise, there is no change in the back as well. The phone is available in four gradient finishes — Blue Black, Blue, Light Blue, and Yellow.
MediaTek Dimensity 6100+ Chip
Last year, Samsung launched the A14 5G different chips based on the region. The US received the MediaTek Dimensity 700 version, while we got the Exynos 1330 chip here in Nepal.
For a change, the Galaxy A15 5G ships with MediaTek Dimensity 6100+ in all markets. This is obviously an upgrade over the Dimensity 700, though we cannot say the same about Exynos 1330.
Density 6100+ has an octa-core setup consisting of 2x Cortex-A176 “Performance” cores and 6x Cortex-A55 “Efficiency” cores. The graphics are handled by Mali G57 MC2.
On paper, both the CPU and GPU of Dimensity 6100+ appear weaker than that of Exynos 1330. So unless Samsung has done major optimization (which we doubt they will do with a budget phone given their past record), we don’t expect the A15 5G to outperform its predecessor.
That said, Dimensity 6100+ enabled both mmWave and sub-6 spectrum on the A15 5G, so that should account for something, although 5G is not yet readily available in Nepal.
Finally, an Ultrawide Camera
Samsung Galaxy A15 has the same number of cameras as its predecessor. There are three arranged in a vertically at the back.
The one at the center is the 50MP primary camera. Below it is the 2MP macro sensor. At the top, we get a new 8MP ultrawide replacing the 2MP depth sensor.
Over on the front, the waterdrop notch houses a 13MP selfie camera.
While the camera setup on the A15 5G is not that bad, we would loved it more if it had Optical Image Stabilization.
Also, the videos cap at 1080p/30fs, although the chip is capable of 4K recording.
Software Support
We love Samsung’s dedication to software support even on its budget and midrange phones. The Galaxy A15 5G comes with Android 14-based One UI 6 out of the box.
In addition, Samsung promises 4 years of Android updates and 5 years of security updates. At this price point, there are no brands that commit to more software updates.
Battery and Charging
Like its predecessor, Samsung Galaxy A14 5G packs a 5,000mAh battery. However, it now supports a faster charging speed of 25W instead of 15W.
We also like the appreciate the fact that Samsung is bundling a 25W power adapter with the Galaxy A15 5G in Nepal.

Samsung Galaxy A15 5G Alternatives in Nepal
Since 5G is still not available in Nepal, we recommend you save money by choosing the 4G version over the 5G version of A14.
The two phones are exactly the same except for the 5G modem.
