OnePlus to launch its own first Smart TV in India-only market

OnePlus TV Coming in India

It would seem no wonder to see smartphone vendors moving to expand their territory. Just recently Huawei announced their first Honor Vision smart TV, and Xiaomi starting up their affordable high-end Redmi smart TV. And in between these, OnePlus CEO Pete Lau has also confirmed OnePlus TV is coming.

The OnePlus TV, however, won’t be launching in any other markets except for India in September. The reason for this, as Lau states, TVs demand a huge variety of contents and for that, it requires partnerships with the top content providers. But as the firm is completely new in this field, this seems to be the obstacles.

There are no definite leaks and confirmations on what specs the TV will be equipped with. One thing for sure, the TV will take the same approach as the company has done with the OnePlus smartphones— revolutionize with high-end specs at an unbeatable price.

However, Lau mentioned that the OnePlus TV will be available for the US and China markets after they have partnerships with the regions’ content providers.
