Performance, Software, and Battery
Powering the phone is a Qualcomm SM8250 Snapdragon 865 chipset which is an octa-core processor bundled with 6/8/12GB of RAM and 128/256GB of internal storage. Handling the graphics of the phone is the Adreno 650 GPU. The phone sports an impressive 4,400 mAh battery supporting 55W fast charging via USB Type-C. Thanks to this fast charging half of the battery capacity can be charged in just 15 minutes. The device runs on Android 10.0 with iQOO UI 1.0 on top. iQOO went with its own OS instead of relying on its parent companies Funtouch OS.
The iQOO UI 1.0 has a lot of software tweaks for all the gamers out there. The UI features Ultra Game Mode that lets you block notifications and calls when gaming to minimize distractions. The device also sports two shoulder keys which are dubbed as “Monster Touch buttons” by the brand. There is also a 4D game vibration feature to simulate recoil when shooting a gun while gaming. Holding both the Monster Touch button activates the Monster Mode enabling the processor to run at 100% capacity to reduce lag during gaming. The device also comes with Carbon Fiber VC Liquid Cooling technology capable of reducing CPU temperature by 12 degrees.
One other key feature of the phone is that it is 5G enabled out of the box. There is no 5G network in India right now but having the 5G connectivity makes it future proof. The additional features of the phone include Bluetooth 5.0, 3.5mm audio jack and all the necessary sensors like accelerometer, gyro, proximity, and compass.
