In the tough battle of smartphones, it is common for companies to face ups and downs. Not every piece of tech will be impressive to the users. Some people may appreciate it while others may simply ignore. But the flagships are something to consider. Talking about the flagships, Realme just launched its most anticipated flagship; Realme X50 Pro 5G. Not so long ago, Realme launched a couple of mid-range devices — Realme 5, 5i and 5 Pro in Nepal. Those devices had their own goods and bads. But the new flagship from Realme, Realme X50 Pro 5G packs the best of Realme could offer on a plate. Officially announced on Feb 24th in India, the Realme X50 Pro 5G comes with a price tag of INR 37,999 for the 6/128GB variant. The expected price of Realme X50 Pro 5G in Nepal is NPR 65,000 for the base model.

Design and Display

Realme X50 Pro 5G flaunts a 6.44-inch Super AMOLED display with 1080 x 2400 pixels. It has a 90Hz screen refresh rate (similar to OnePlus 7T) and also supports 180Hz touch-sensing. Not only that the display is HDR10+ certified as well. The display is protected with Corning Gorilla Glass 5 and has a 92% screen-to-body ratio.

Talking about the aesthetics of the device, the X50 Pro 5G has a near bezel-less display. On the top of the device, we have the hole-punch camera and on the bottom, there’s the slightly visible chin. The power button is placed on the right while the volume rockers are on the left edge of the device. Sadly there’s no sight of 3.55mm headphone jack.

6 Camera Lenses

Realme X50 Pro 5G rocks on the camera department. It houses a total of 6 camera lenses. For the selfie camera, we have a dual hole-punch camera setup. This consists of 32MP + 8MP lenses. These are placed on the top-left corner. With the dual selfie lens, you can shoot videos 1080p@30fps, gyro-EIS, HDR.

Not only on the selfie lens, but the X50 Pro 5G also looks stunning on the rear camera setup as well. It houses quad rear camera setup of 64MP (wide) + 12MP (telephoto) + 8MP (ultrawide) + 2MP (depth). These lenses are aligned vertically on the device. Besides these quad lenses, lies an LED flash. With the quad rear lens you can shoot videos 2160p@30fps, 1080p@30/60fps; gyro-EIS, HDR. It supports 20X hybrid zoom. The SAT smooth-zoom technology of Realme can simulate the zoom feeling of cameras. Here multiple lenses are switched and the picture is stabilized with the original color temperature and exposure for seamless zoom.

Performance and Software

Powering the Realme X50 Pro 5G Snapdragon 865 (7 nm+) is coupled with 6/8/12 GB of RAM. For the GPU we have Adreno 650.  It has wide 5G network coverage. The theoretical download speed peaks at up to 3.45 Gbps, which is 10x higher than 4G. Resulting in the streaming of HD movies in less than 10 seconds.

The X50 Pro 5G runs on Android 10.0 alongside realme UI 1.0. It also features a 360° surround antenna design, which is 225% more than 4G phones.  It supports Desktop Forward Rendering for extreme realism and has the first-ever updatable GPU driver on a mobile. For the memory, we have 128GB and 256 GB variant available. Unfortunately, the internal storage is not expandable.

The 65-Watt Fast Charging Battery

Massive 4200mAh battery fuels this device. Realme has a dual-cell design that gives more speed and better safety measures. The main highlight of this device is that it supports whooping 65-Watt fast charging and as the company calls ‘SuperDart Flash Charge’.

This massive fast charging speed is protected by an intelligent five-core chip system with real-time monitoring. As per Realme’s claims, with the SuperDart charging, the device will be fully charged within 35 minutes. Moreover, a 20-min plug-in can get the X50 Pro 5G to 60% of charging and a 3-min can last the phone up to 4hrs of call time. For the charging port, we have the standard USB Type-C.

Five Dimensional Vapor Cooling Pro

If Snapdragon 865 (7nm+), 65-watt fast charging, HDR10+ certified 90 Hz display and first-ever updatable mobile GPU driver was not enough for you for smooth gameplay, here’s big news for you — Realme X50 Pro 5G has a five-dimensional vapor cooling system.

This tech enables higher heat dissipation performance. Vapor cooling on X50 Pro can dissipate heat from an area of up to 1821 mm2. Dedicated to all the gamers out there, there’s Game Space where you can pack all your games. Plus we have a Gaming Assistant that sets Do-Not-Disturb mode and enable semi-transparent pop-ups to avoid interruption during intense gaming. The overall vapor cooling system of the X50 Pro 5G consists of 3 layers of Graphite, Vapor Chamber, Thermal Silica and Copper Foil.
