Vivo recently announced three flagships, X50, X50 Pro, and X50 Pro+. All of these devices are packed with impressive features and great camera lenses. On comparing X50 and X50 Pro, there’s not much difference. X50 Pro differs X50 only on camera specs, curved display, and battery. But the premium flagship Vivo X50 Pro+ is on a completely different level. This device packs better features than the other two devices. The Vivo X50 Pro+ price in Nepal is Rs 90,000 (expected).
Design and Display
Vivo X50 Pro+ rocks a 6.56-inch Super AMOLED, HDR10+ display with 1080 x 2376 pixels. It has an approximately 90.6% screen-to-body ratio. For the protection, we have Corning Gorilla Glass. With a glass back and front bounded by an aluminum frame, this device has curved edges. There’s a punch-hole cutout placed on the top-right corner confining the selfie lens. Both the power button and the volume rockers are set on the right edge of the device. It also supports the 120Hz screen refresh rate. For the fingerprint, there’s an under-display optical sensor. Sadly there’s no sight of 3.5mm headphone jack.
50MP Quad Rear Camera
Vivo X50 Pro+ looks stunning on the camera department. It rocks a total of five lenses. For the selfie camera, there’s a 32MP(wide) lens. The punch-hole cutout confines the selfie lens. With the 32MP selfie lens, you can shoot videos 1080p@30fps.
For the rear camera, there’s a quad-camera setup. This consist 50MP (wide) + 8MP (periscope telephoto) + 13MP (portrait) + 8MP (macro) lenses. The 8MP portrait lens supports 5X optical zoom and the 13MP portrait lens supports 2X optical zoom. These lenses are aligned vertically in a rectangular setup. Besides the rectangular setup lies an LED flash. With the 50MP quad rear camera setup, you can shoot videos 4K@30fps, 1080p@30fps; gyro-EIS.
Samsung’s 50MP Lens with Gimbal OIS
The gimbal camera system on Vivo X50 Pro+ is an outstanding feature. Samsung’s 50MP ISOCELL GN1 sensor utilizes a gimbal camera system that is modeled after a full-sized professional gimbal. This results in the movement of the camera module in the direction opposite to that of the shake, increasing the stability of the main camera. Not only this, but Vivo has also added Gimbal radar within the camera UI. This depicts an animated ball that reflects the gimbal’s movement. Additional features like motion-deblur algorithms, continuous focus tracking for image and video clarity are also available.
Performance, Software, and Battery
Powering the Vivo X50 Pro+ Qualcomm SM8250 Snapdragon 865 (7 nm+) is coupled with octa-core CPU and Adreno 650 as GPU. This device operates on Android 10 alongside Funtouch 10.5.
It’s available in three storage variants, 8/128GB, 8/256GB, and 12/256GB. Sadly there’s no slot of internal memory expansion. The 4315mAh battery fuels this device similar to that of Vivo X50 Pro. However, it also supports massive 44-watt fast charging. For the charging port, we have standard USB Type-C. Other features like accelerometer, gyro, proximity, color spectrum, and compass are also available.
