iPhone 11 vs iPhone 11 Pro vs iPhone 11 Pro Max Design and Display
The design language for these three newer iPhones is almost identical to the previous generation of iPhones such as iPhone X and iPhone XR-family. They all have a larger infamous notch at the top to house a selfie camera and an earpiece. But wait, there is massive facelift on the back, the rear cameras are now confined in a square block (shaped in a way to trigger trypophobia in you.)
Speaking of the build quality, all of three are encased in a dual-glass body and however, the iPhone 11 has an aluminum frame whereas the other two— iPhone 11 Pro and iPhone 11 Pro Max— has a stainless steel frame. And yes, all the three iPhones are IP68 certified, however, the Pro versions can survive up to 4m for 30 mins in water, while the standard iPhone 11 can only do up to 2m.
In terms of colors options, the iPhone 11 Pro and the iPhone 11 Pro Max shine in four different shades; Gold, Space Grey, Silver, and Midnight Green, whereas the iPhone 11 comes in more colorful choices to choose from; Black, Green, Yellow, Purple, Red, and White.
And, the iPhone 11 Pro is smallest and lightest among the three with a dimension of 5.67 x 2.81 x 0.32 in and weighs 188g. The iPhone 11 of 5.94 x 2.98 x 0.33 in dimension and 188g weight is second in line after the iPhone 11 Pro Max’s 6.22 x 3.06 x 0.32 in measurement and 226g weight.
Moving on to the display, the iPhone 11 houses a 6.1-inch “Liquid Retina” IPS LCD of the 828-by-1792 resolution, while the 11 Pro houses a 5.8-inch “Super Retina XDR” OLED of 1125-by-2346 resolution. The iPhone 11 Pro Max display is the largest among all with 6.5-inch “Super Retina XDR” OLED of 1242-by-2688 resolution.
The iPhone 11 has a pixel density of 326 ppi and reach the brightness of 625 nits, while the other two Pro models have a pixel density of 458 ppi and reach the brightness of 800 nits.
iPhone 11 vs iPhone 11 Pro vs iPhone 11 Pro Max Performance and Features
New iPhones get new chipset and software, and which means all the three in the 11 family ships with Apple’s A13 Bionic processor, based on 7nm architecture, and iOS 13 out of the box.
And though the Apple hasn’t disclosed the RAM these new iPhones pack, TENAA revealed all three models have an equal of 4GB RAM, which might sound very less when compared to Android flagship devices like OnePlus 7T, Galaxy Note 10+, Huawei Mate 30 Pro packing as massive as 8-12GB of RAM. But this shouldn’t be cause for questioning iPhone 11’s performance because Apple sure knows how to make a capable phone even with the smaller RAM.
For storage options, the iPhone 11 is available in 64GB, 128GB and 256GB, while the Pro siblings are available in 64GB, 256GB and 512GB sizes.

iPhone 11 vs iPhone 11 Pro vs iPhone 11 Pro Max Camera
This year iPhones were all about new cameras, in fact in the Apple Event, it was the most talked topic. To maintain cost and the vanilla iPhone 11 has only two camera sensors on the back, whereas the other two have three.
All three in the iPhone 11 family have two 12MP cameras; the standard lens of f/1.8 and ultrawide lens of f/2.4. However, the iPhone 11 Pro and the iPhone 11 Pro Max has another extra 12MP telephoto lens of f/2.0 aperture with 2x optical zoom. And in all the cases, the three of iPhones have identical Quad-LED dual-tone flash, support HDR, and capable of shooting 4K videos at up to 60 frames-per-second and 1080p slo-mo videos at 240 frames-per-second. To add, the rear cameras are now tweaked to support more camera modes and tools such as Night Mode.
As for the selfies, there’s a 12MP lens of f/2.2 for all three iPhones and of course, with Face ID feature that has been improved to perform and recognize faces from more different angles. The selfie camera can also record 4K videos at up to 60 frames-per-second and 1080p videos at up to 120 frames-per-second (slo-mo videos), which Apple has chosen to call it as “Slofies”. There is gyro-EIS employed to maintain the stability of videos while recording.
iPhone 11 vs iPhone 11 Pro vs iPhone 11 Pro Max Battery
Speaking of the battery inside, Apple didn’t mention how much juice the new iPhones are packing, but again, as per TENAA, we now know the iPhone 11 has 3,046mAh battery, while the 11 Pro has 3,110mAh and the 11 Pro Max has 3,969mAh.
But what did they reveal is, the iPhone 11, iPhone 11 Pro, the iPhone 11 Pro Max can survive up to 1 hour, 4 hours and 5 hours longer than the predecessor iPhone XR, iPhone XS and iPhone XS Max respectively.
All three models support the wireless charging and as for wired charging, all three support 18-watt fast charging, which Apple claims the devices can be charged up to 50% in 30 minutes. However, the Pro versions do ship with 18W brick, while the vanilla iPhone 11 ships with garbage 5W brick, which means you will have to shop for 18W charger that costs around $30.
- The iPhone XS Max couldn’t beat the Galaxy Note 10+ in a drop test, but could the iPhone 11 Pro Max? Well, will know soon.
