Vivo NEX 3S 5G, successor of Nex 3 5G set to launch on March 10

NEX lineup is one of the most popular smartphones from Vivo. Vivo launched NEX 3 and NEX 3 5G last year and is getting ready to launch the successor of the phone, the Vivo NEX 3S 5G. Falling under the flagship category, Vivo is planning to launch the phone in China on March 10, 2020.

Design and Display

Vivo NEX 3S 5G takes many of its traits from its predecessor and features a 6.89-inch waterfall screen with a close to 90 degrees curved edges on the side, similar to Vivo NEX 3. The display also retains the 99.6% ultra-high screen ratio like its predecessor. The screen has a resolution of 1080 × 2256 pixels and is an AMOLED display with 100% P3 wide color gamut, HDR10, and 800 nits of brightness. It is a clean screen with no notch or a punch-hole to house a front-facing camera instead, the selfie cameras are housed in a pop-up module. The display also sports an in-display fingerprint sensor.

Cameras

On the camera side, the device has a triple camera setup with the primary sensor being 64MP Samsung GW1 sensor. Accompanying the main camera are 13MP 120-degree ultra-wide lens, 13MP telephoto lens supporting 2x optical zoom, 10x digital zoom, and an LED flash. For selfies, the front camera is housed in a popup module and is a 16MP sensor.

Performance, Software, and Battery

The Vivo NEX 3S 5G is powered by the latest Qualcomm Snapdragon 865 processor with Adreno 650 GPU which was confirmed by TENNA certification. For the memory, the device will come in three options 8GB of RAM and 128GB or 256GB of internal memory and 12Gb of RAM and 256GB of internal storage. The storage used in the phone is the fast UFS 3.0 kind. Other known specification of the phone includes 4250mAh battery supporting 44W ultra-fast charging, 5G, Dual 4G VoLTE, Wi-Fi 802.11 ac (2.4GHz + 5GHz), Bluetooth 5, GPS + GLONASS, USB Type-C, NFC, 3.5mm audio jack, and AK4377A Hi-Fi DAC. The phone will run on Android 10 with Funtouch OS 10 on top.

Pricing and Availability

The Vivo NEX 3S 5G is expected to come in a new color, in addition to Black and White. For the pricing, we will have to wait for the device to be unveiled as we could not find any information regarding the price of the phone. But we expect the phone, to be not more than $850. Which when converted to Nepali rupees comes to around ~ NPR 10,9800.
