Vivo Y12 launched in Nepal with Tripe rear camera and 5000mAh battery for just Rs. 19,990

This year of 2091 has been a successful year for the company Vivo. Vivo has launched many of his budget and mid-range smartphones which are being sold vastly. Vivo had released its Vivo Y12 smartphone in June 2019 which directly targets budget consumers. Vivo is known to provide a really good sleek design and finish in its budget segment smartphone (like Z1x)and it’s the same with the Vivo Y12. Vivo Y12 provides a really good sleek design, good finish and good color option for its budget price. Vivo Y12 price in Nepal is marked at Rs. 20,490 for a 3GB/64GB variant and Rs. 19,990 for 3GB/32GB variant.

Display and Design

Vivo Y12 sports a 6.3-inch IPS LCD display with a resolution of 720x1544p which also holds a water-drop notch.  The display is quite good at this price. It is bright, crisp, and vibrant and gives a detailed experience. This IPS LCD display can give the user a good experience while gaming and watching videos. We can’t ask for a better display at this price.

Coming to the design, Vivo offers a really seek design in this device with great color options and finishes. The body is plastic built but looks quite beautiful at glance. We can see a triple rear camera setup at the back all aligned vertically at the top-left corner of the device supported by a LED flash and a fingerprint scanner mouth at the middle (Just like Y7) which is quite amazing to have at this price point, but sadly Vivo Y12 has no any kind of Glass protection or water/dust resistant which can be compromised for its price tag.

Camera

Vivo Y12 offers a triple rear camera setup at the back; 13MP as main sensor, 8MP ultra-wide-angle, and 2MP depth field sensor. Triple rear camera has been a hot trend for this year 2019. The camera performance overall is quite good and the images that it produces are really well balanced and saturated.  This triple rear setup supports features like voice controls, gesture controls, AI beauty, portrait mode, Live photo, HDR, slo-mo and timelapse. This setup can also record videos in 1080p at 30fps.

For the front camera department, it offers an 8MP camera with f/2.2 which rests on the water-drop notch located at the bottom top display of the device. It also supports gesture controls, voice controls, and AI beauty mode to enhance the image that it produces. Overall the camera experience on this phone is really amazing for its price tag.

Performance, Software, Storage

To deliver performance, Vivo has integrated Mediatek MT6762 Helio P22 chipset, Octa-core 2,0 GHz Cortex-A53 processor and PowerVR GE8320 all supported by 3GB up to 4GB of RAM. This all runs on Android 9.0 Pie skinned with Funtouch 9. This is really a good combination to have in a budget smartphone, but Funtouch 9 still needs more work and Vivo should manage all the icons that it provides. This device can provide a good gaming experience but not heavy gaming or heavy tasks. It may lag or show signs of slowing down if gamed heavy. This device comes in two storage options; 3GB/32GB and 4GB/64GB for storing data and files which can be furthermore expanded up to 256GB via MicroSD card slot.

Battery and connectivity

It is amazing that Vivo has packed a massive 5000mAh Li-Po battery in this Y12 device (Just like Z1 Pro). This battery can last up to a day without worries or problems. This batter is really massive for the price and is one of the main highlights of the phone.

As for connectivity, Vivo Y12 provides all kinds of common sensors featured in a smartphone and a micro-USB 2.0 port instead of Type-C, active noise cancellation dedicated mic, USB On-The-Go, and fingerprint scanner mount.

Vivo Y12 price in Nepal is marked at Rs. 20,490 for a 3GB/64GB variant and Rs. 19,990 for 3GB/32GB variant. This phone at this price point is really amazing but however there are still more smartphones at under Rs. 20,000 in Nepal’s market those worth the price. The color options for Vivo Y12 are Aqua Blue and Burgundy Red which are really nice colors and give the device a really nice look.
