Display and Design
Huawei Mate 30 Pro comes with a 6.53-inch OLED display with a resolution of 1176x2400p. The display has Corning Gorilla Glass 6 protection and houses a notch where its dual front camera along with other sensors rests. This display is very vibrant, colorful, detailed and very clear which gives the user a really great experience. The ultra-curved screen adds a more immersive viewing experience.

This great display also features an under-display fingerprint sensor and a touch volume control option which can be done from both sides of the edges. While gaming, watching videos and doing other tasks, this phone’s great display really gives a great experience.
Huawei Mate 30 Pro has a sleek design and feels thin while holding. There is only one physical button which is the Power button at the right edge. Volume rockers are absent and the volumes and music volume can be controlled through touches by tapping into both sides of the screen edges. Both the front and back of the phone is protected by Corning Gorilla Glass 6 and has an aluminum frame. The phone also comes with IP68 dust/water-resistant.

At the back, we can see a round halo camera module where its quad-camera setup is fitted. Just at the side of the module, we can see a dual-LED dual-tone flash and a company logo at the left bottom side of the phone written vertically. There is no 3.5mm traditional headphone jack port but we can find a Type-C port, Hybrid SIM tray and a speaker grill at the bottom edge of the phone. The overall design of the Huawei Mate 30 Pro feels really futuristic, pleasing and luxurious.
Camera
The cameras are one of the main highlights of the phone and the phone itself is basically designed for videography and photography. As for the rear camera, the phone comes with a Quad rear camera setup; 40MP Ultra-wide Cine sensor, 40MP SuperSensing main sensor, 8MPtelephoto lens and 3D TOF camera all fitted into a round halo camera module ad supported by a dual-LED dual-tone flash. The setup can capture very rich details and clarity in every picture at both day and night.

This setup can go up to 30x Digital Zoom and bring professional Bokeh effects to both photos and videos. Night Mode performance of the camera setup is also top-notch and produces really bright, colorful and detailed pictures at night also. This setup can also record videos in 4K at 30/60fps, 1080p at 30/60/120fps, 1080p at 960fps and 720p at 7680fps. The setup also allows us to record in Ultra Low-light, Ultra-slow-motion videos in 720p at 7680fsp and Ultra-Wide-Angle Time-lapse videos.
Coming to the front camera department, the phone features a 32MP main sensor and a 3D TOF camera which captures really nice detailed, well saturated and quality photos. The beauty mode also gives a really nice retouch to skin and beautifies it without taking away the detailed ad quality of the photo. The front camera is very versatile and can even add professional bokeh’s. Portrait shots are also really nice on this phone. This front camera can also record videos in 1080p at 30fps. The overall performance of the rear quad camera setup and front camera is really amazing.
Performance, Software, Storage
To deliver performance, Huawei Mate 30 Pro comes with HiSilicon Kirin 990 chipset, Octa-core processor, Mali-G76 MP16 as GPU, 8GB of RAM and Android 10.0 skinned with EMUI 10 as software. The Kirin 990 chipset has been improved in overall performance and energy efficiency. The combination of Kirin 990 chipset and 8GB of RAM gives an amazing performance and with the help of EMUI 10’s revised gaming mode, the gaming experience is furthermore enhanced.

To add more fun into gaming, Huawei has set an option to activate L and R triggers on top left and top right of the curved edges while playing in landscape orientation. The triggers are remappable, readjust able and responsive.
Huawei also provides two storage options which are 8GB/256GB and 8GB/128GB which can furthermore be extended by 256GB via nano memory card. Dark mode has been added which is really impressive and an eye monitoring feature that can stop phones auto-rotating and makes sure to sync the display with eyes orientation which works amazingly well. Huawei Mate 30 Pro also features two gesture controls; making a fist over the display to take a screenshot and flick up or flick down to scroll up and down.
Battery and connectivity
Huawei Mate 30 Pro packs a Li-Po 4500mAh battery which provides sufficient power to the phone. This battery also supports 40W fast battery charging through cable, 27W fast wireless charging and Power bank/Reverse wireless charging options to charge another phone via this feature. Huawei mate 30 Pro battery backup is really nice and doesn’t drain easily like other smartphones battery.
