No more leaks on what the Mate 30 will pack or feature because Huawei made the Mate 30 series— the Mate 30 and the Mate 30 Pro— alongside Huawei Watch GT 2 official at Huawei launch event on Sep 19. The Mate 30 is a capable and almost complete phone, except for a fact it (and the Mate 30 Pro) misses out Google apps. Which might be a head-turner for most of the smartphone enthusiasts. Other than that, like said, the Mate 30 sports the “best in the industry” hardware under its hood. The Huawei Mate 30 expected price in Nepal is around Rs. 1,05,000.

Huawei Mate 30: All-new Fresh Design
The Mate 30, on the front, shares the similar flat design (no waterfall display here like the Mate 30 Pro) from the Mate 20. However, the back is where the magic happens with the new rounded camera module housing a four cameras just like we have seen this trend on other newer phones like Nokia 7.2, Moto G7, Nokia 9, and upcoming OnePlus 7T.
There, you will find a power button and a volume rocker on the right edge of the Mate 30, with only a SIM card slot on the left edge. And speaking of the build quality, this is the 2019 flagship Mate series, so, obviously, the Mate 30 is sandwich of dual-glass body and aluminum frame. Thanks to IP53 rating, the device is resistant to water and dust.
The display on the phone is 1080-by-2340 OLED display with 19.5:9 aspect ratio and 389 ppi density. This display incorporates not-so-wide iPhone-ish notch on the top to include dual selfie cameras. The handset comes in six different shades; Emerald Green, Space Silver, Cosmic Purple, Black, Forest Green, and Orange.
Huawei Mate 30: Performance that stands-out
Huawei, since its inception, has been trying to minimize its reliance on third-party companies and embrace their own in-house hardware and software. Be it manufacturing their own chipset or developing own firmware/OS.
The Mate 30 is no different, it is powered by the company’s latest flagship Kirin 990 chipset bound with Mali-G76 MP16 for the graphics processing. The standard model of the Mate 30 is a 4G phone, but as the Kirin 990 has in-built 5G modem in it, there’s a 5G model too for the device. Theoretically, the Mate 30 can reach a top download speed of 2.3Gbps, and a top upload speed of 1.25Gbps.
Under the hood, the device comes in two RAM options; 6GB and 8GB, with common 128GB storage option. However, you will find a shared SIM slot to expand the storage up to 256GB.
Speaking of the battery, the handset packs a 4200mAh inside, claiming to last all day with a full charge. The phone also comes with 40W fast wired charging and 27W wireless charging speed support.
As for the software, the Mate 30 comes with EMUI 10 atop the latest Android 10, but with no support for the Google apps.
Huawei Mate 30: Cameras, Refreshed
This late 2019 pretty much seems the start for the adoption of rounded camera module and the Mate 30 is front line with a solid setup. There are quad cameras, comprises 40MP super-sensing wide lens of f/1.8 aperture combined with another 16MP ultrawide lens of f/2.2 lens, an 8MP telephoto lens of f/2.4 and a focus-assist laser. On the top-left corner by the camera module, there is a dual-LED dual-tone flash.
Though the Mate 30 can’t meet the Mate 30 Pro’s 7680 fps slo-mo and 4K video recording with HDR time-lapses support, it sure can outdo most of the flagships out there with the 4K shooting at 60fps, FHD at 120fps, and HD slo-mo at 960fps.
And as for the selfies, you get a 24MP sensor of f/2.0 aperture with a 3D TOF camera treat for better depth sensing and bokeh effects. This front camera can shoot 1080p videos at 30fps.
Huawei Mate 30 Price in Nepal
At the launch of the Mate 30 and the Mate 30 Pro, the company only announced the pricing for the EU region, which is €799 (around $880 or AUD 13,000 or £700) for Mate 30 8/128GB variant. This roughly translates the Huawei Mate 30 price in Nepal as Rs. 1,00,000.
This surely is a premium flagship phones and stands against the iPhone 11, Galaxy Note 10 Plus, and OnePlus 7T.
