2019 has been a good year for Xiaomi. The company launched phones from the budget to mid-range to flagship segment in which they all rocked. Not just phones but Xiaomi has also marked its place on the wearables department. In the month of September 2019, the company launched Mi 9 Pro 5G and Mi 9 Lite which were both hit phones. This time around the company has decided to launch its successor named “Xiaomi Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro” both on the same day/event. The launch event was rumored to take place in the month of February 2019 in China before the Samsung Unpack Event which took take place on Feb 11 . But Xiaomi this time launched the Mi 10 series on Feb 13 in an online event instead of organizing a grand one due to Corona epidemy. Xiaomi was expected to globally launch the series during the MWC 2020 which also got canceled due to the same reason but it is expected that Xiaomi will globally launch the series near the end of February.
Xiaomi Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro price in Nepal can only be speculated for now but we do already know specs and design of Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro, so let’s get talking about these phones
Design & Display
First of all, let’s talk about the design. Starting with the display, looking at both the phones we can see a punch-hole at the top left corner of the display and has really thin bezels around its body. The screen used in both the phone is a 6.67 inch Super AMOLED screen having a resolution of 1080 x 2340 pixels, the aspect ratio of 19.5:9 and a pixel count of ~386 PPI. The display also features an in-display fingerprint scanner, a single selfie camera housed inside punch-hole and 90Hz refreshed rate
The power button and volume rockers are both placed on the right edge of the phone and SIM tray fitted at the left edge of the phone, no 3.5mm headphone jack instead we get stereo speakers and Type-C port at the bottom edge.
Coming to the rear panel of the phone we get a quad-camera setup at the top left corner of the phone aligned vertically accompanied by an LED flash. The cameras are separated into modules with first three sensors housed in one and the remaining single sensor in another. A company logo is placed in the lower middle part of the phone along with a 5G logo.
As for the camera department, Mi 10 has a Quad rear camera; a 108MP main sensor, 13MP ultra-wide sensor, a 2MP depth field sensor and a 2MP macro sensor accompanied by a dual-tone LED flash.
On the other hand, Mi 10 Pro also has a Quad rear camera with the same 108MP sensor as main camera accompanied by an 8MP telephoto lens, 12MP portrait lens, and a 20MP ultra-wide lens. On the front, both the Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro has a 20MP selfie camera housed under the punch-hole.
Powering both the devices is a Qualcomm SM8250 Snapdragon 865 which is bundled with 8/12GB of RAM. For the internal storage, both the Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro comes in two options. Mi 10 is available in 128GB/256GB variants whereas Mi 10 Pro comes in 256GB/512GB variants.
On the battery side, Mi 10 sports a 4780 mAh battery whereas Mi 10 Pro sports a 4500mAh battery both supporting 30W and 50W fast charging respectively. Another feature that the devices support which very few other phones sport is the Reverse wireless charging. Both the devices support 10W Reverse wireless charging capable of charging another device that supports wireless charging.
Other features of the phone include NFC, infrared port, all the necessary sensors like accelerometer, gyro, proximity, compass, barometer, Type-C port for charging and data connection and 5G support out of the box.
Xiaomi Mi 10 and Mi 10 Pro Price in Nepal
Xiaomi Mi 10 is available in three storage variants: 8GB/128GB, 8GB/256GB and 12GB/256GB. Likewise Mi 10 Pro also comes in three storage variants: 8GB/256GB, 12GB/256GB and 12GB/512GB.
Mi 10 is priced at 3,999 yuan (~NPR 65,700) for the 8GB/128GB variant; 4,299 yuan(~NPR 70,600) for the 8GB/256GB variant and 4,699 yuan(~NPR 77,200) for the high end 12GB/256GB variant. The phone is available in three colors: Ice Blue, Peach Gold, Titanium Silver.
Mi 10 Pro starts at 4,999 yuan (~NPR 82,000) for the 8GB/256GB variant, 5,499 yuan(~NPR 90,200) for the 12GB/256GB variant and 5,999 yuan(~NPR 98,500) for the high end 12GB/512GB variant. The phone is available in two colors: Pearl White, Starry blue.
