Motorola had sent out invites for a press event on November 13 with the quotation “An original unlike any other” which very much likely seems to be the new foldable phone Razr from Motorola. Many companies like Samsung (Galaxy Fold), Xiaomi, Microsoft (Surface Duo) and Huawei have already launched their folding smartphones. So, could it be that Motorola a company owned by Lenovo is entering this foldable phone race? Let’s talk about what Motorola Razr folding phone leaks suggests about.
Motorola Razr is expected to be a flip phone that would unfold to show an edge-to-edge display inside and is rumored to even have a small secondary screen with 800x600p resolution on its exterior part which will be used to show notifications, could also act like a trackpad and scrolling pages while browsing or doing tasks. The design very much could be like its previous phone Razr which was launched in the 2000s but with a change that replaces a tiny and keyboard with a 6.2-inch edge-to-edge AMOLED display with a resolution of 2142x876p. This device could be equipped with Qualcomm Snapdragon 710 chipset, octa-core processor and Adreno 616 as GPU (Just like Vivo Z1x) supported by 4GB RAM up to 6GB of RAM.
This all could run on Android 9.0 Pie. The phone is rumored to be powered by a 2730mAh battery which is very small but the leaks also suggest that there could be not one but two cells 2730mAh battery. It could provide 64GB or 128GB of internal storage for storing data and files which could be furthermore extended up to 256GB via microSD card slot. This phone could sport a 12MP rear camera sensor and an 8MP front camera sensor for selfie shooting. It also could feature a Type-C reversible connector, fingerprint rear mount, and traditional 3.5mm headphone jack port.
The price or this folding phone from Motorola is expected to be at USD $1500 range which is roughly Rs. 168,512 in Nepal. At the same time, it’s below the price of Samsung Galaxy Fold and Huawei Mate X. But we will have to wait until the launch event to know more about this device and to be sure whether all these leaks and rumors are fake or just fake words.
