The perfect gaming phone does not exist. Oh no, wait, Nubia has officially announced its new gaming phone- Nubia Red Magic 5G. This is the latest gaming flagship from Nubia and a new addition on its Red Magic lineup. From Red Magic lineup Nubia Red Magic 3 is exclusively available in the Nepali market. Looking at the spec sheets the Nubia Red Magic is a total powerhouse. In other words, it’s a new gaming beast in the town. Red Magic 5G has the world’s highest screen refresh rate at whooping 144Hz. That’s more than that of Oppo Find X2, Samsung Galaxy S20 Ultra, Redmi K30, Asus Rog Phone II, OnePlus 7T. Not only that, but it is also powered by the latest Snapdragon chipset as well.
144Hz AMOLED Display
One of the outstanding features of Nubia Red Magic 5G is its 144Hz screen refresh rate. With that, it boasts 6.65.-inch AMOLED having 1080 x 2340 pixels. The 144Hz screen refresh rate is the highest one present in the market today. It also has 240Hz touch sensing.
Talking about the device aesthetics, it has a slightly visible chin on the top as well as on the bottom. For the protection, we have corning gorilla glass on the display with glass back bound by the aluminum frame. It has 82.5% screen to body ratio. There’s is an under-display optical fingerprint sensor as well. As usual, there’s an RGB light panel mounted on the back. On the right edge of the device, we have both the power button and the volume rockers. Not only that, there’s 300Hz touch-sensing pressure-sensitive shoulder triggers placed as well.
64MP Sony IMX686 Camera lens
We all have this stereotypical thought regarding the gaming devices that they do not have a good camera but Nubia Red Magic 5G breaks those boundaries. It rocks a total of 4 camera lenses. For the selfie camera, we have 8MP lenses. It is placed on the sleek bezel on the top. With the selfie camera, you can shoot videos 1080p@30fps.
On the rear camera surprisingly Red Magic 5G rocks triple camera setup. This consists of Sony IMX686 64MP (wide) + 8MP (ultrawide) + 2MP (macro) camera lenses. With this triple-camera setup, you can shoot videos 4320p, 2160p@30/60fps, 1920fps. It is aligned vertically alongside the RGB panel.
Active Air Cooling System
One of the common issue of a gaming device is thermal. Due to the intensive gaming device tend to reach a high temperature. But no need to worry about the Red Magic 5G. For the device cooling, it has a built-in fan that acts with the active air cooling system on the heat-sink chamber. As per Nubia official the active air cooling system can reduce the device temperature by up to 18 C. Yep you read that right that 18 C. The heat dissipation number is appreciable. As this device supports high fast charging, there will be issues due to the active air cooling system.

We have already said that Red Magic 5G is a total beast. It’s a powerhouse. This device is powered by the latest Snapdragon 865 (7nm+) chipset that is placed alongside the X55 modem. For the GPU we have Adreno 650.
The Red Magic 5G runs on Android 10.0 alongside Redmagic 3.0. On the memory department, we have 8/128 GB, 12/128 GB, 12/256 GB and 16/256 GB variants available. Since there is no card slot the internal storage cannot be expanded. Massive 4500mAh battery fuels this device. It also supports whooping 55-watt fast charging. This will give you a 100% charge within 40 minutes of charging. Since Red Magic 5G has an active air cooling system you don’t need to worry about the thermal issues. Black, Mars Red, Cyber Neon, Transparent are the available color variants.
