Redmi K30 & Redmi K30 5G launched with 120Hz dual punch-hole display, 64MP rear quad cameras

Xiaomi’s sub-brand Redmi has already gained huge popularity in the market. From mid-range devices to premium flagship, Redmi has been rocking the market for quite long now. With the release of Redmi K20 Pro, Redmi was included with the tag line of Affordability meets Quality. Now they are here with another great device Redmi K30. We have covered what the mighty Redmi K30 packs inside and speculated it’s price in Nepal, expecting the base model to start with Rs 29,000.

Redmi K30 4G and 5G houses 6.67-inch IPS LCD, HDR display having 1080 x 2400 pixels and protected by the Corning Gorilla Glass. It has a 120Hz refresh rate similar to Asus Rog Phone 2 [superior to OnePlus 7T Pro, 7 Pro, Google Pixel 4 and Nubia Red Magic 3‘s 90Hz].

On the right edge of the device, there are volume keys placed. Below volume keys lies the side-mounted fingerprint sensor. Lucky for headphone jack lovers as K30 has one. This feature is sorely missed on the current smartphones. There’s loudspeaker placed on the bottom alongside the charging port.

64MP Quad Camera Setup

On the camera department, Redmi K30 flaunts dual selfie camera and rear quad camera setup. For the selfie camera, there’s 20MP, f/2.2 (wide), 1/3.4, 0.8µm + 2MP, f/2.4, 1/5,175µm, depth sensor on both 4G and 5G variant. With these dual lenses, you can shoot HDR videos 1080p@30fps.

For the rear camera, we have a quad-camera setup. This consists of 64 MP, f/1.9, 26mm (main lens) PDAF + 8 MP, f/2.2, 13mm (ultrawide) + 2 MP, f/2.4, (dedicated macro camera) + 2 MP, f/2.4, depth sensor for 4G variant.

For 5G variant, we have 64 MP, f/1.9, 26mm (main lens) PDAF + 8 MP, f/2.2, 13mm (ultrawide) + 5 MP, f/2.4, (dedicated macro camera) + 2 MP, f/2.4, depth sensor.
There’s a dual-LED flash. With this quad-camera setup you can shoot HDR videos 2160p@30fps, 1080p@30/120/240fps, 1080p@960fps. The rear quad camera setup is aligned vertically in the mid-section of the back.

Performance, Software, and Battery

Powering the K30 4G and 5G, we have a gaming-centered Snapdragon 730G and 750G chipset respectively coupled with 6/8/12 GB of RAM. It runs on Android 10 right out of the box alongside MIUI 11. For the storage, there are three available storage variants; 64GB, 128GB, and 256GB.

Both the K30 4G and 5G variants are fueled by a monstrous 4500mAh battery. Not only that, it also supports 27-Watt fast charging on 4G variant and 30-Watt fast charging on the 5G variant. We have the standard USB Type-C charging port. Other than the side-mounted fingerprint sensors, there are features like accelerometer, gyro, proximity, and compass. This device is available in color variants like Blue, Red, and Purple and 5G variant is available in additional White color.

Redmi K30 4G & K30 5G Price in Nepal

Redmi K30 is all ready to bombard the smartphone market. Redmi K20 Pro had profound success. Only time will tell if K30 is able to replicate that level of success or even take it to the next level. Redmi K30 4G/5G is currently available in China only. There’s no official confirmation of the global release of Redmi K30 4G and 5G. However, we expect it to release globally soon.
