Honor 30S officially announced, a mid-range with 64MP quad camera setup

The Coronavirus pandemic has taken the world completely. It has affected the world economy. The lockdown has completely changed people’s life. During this pandemic, there were rarely any smartphone released. But now we have a new mid-range from Honor, Honor 30S. It is the latest addition in the Honor 30 series. Design and Display

Honor 30S flaunts 6.5-inch LTPS IPS LCD display with 1080 x 2400 pixels. It has 83.8% screen-to-body ratio with a hole-punch placed on top-left corner. There’s a slightly visible chin on the bottom.

Talking about the device aesthetics volume rockers are placed on the right edge. Beneath the volume rockers lies fingerprint sensor. Here lies the good news for headphone jack lovers as 30S has 3.55mm headphone jack on the bottom edge alongside charging port the loudspeaker. Honor has placed Aluminosilicate glass on the display with back glass bounded by the aluminum frame.

64MP Rear Quad Camera Setup

On the camera department Honor 30S houses totals of 5 camera lenses. For the selfie camera, we have a 16MP lens. The top-left centered punch-hole display confines the selfie lens. With the selfie lens, you can shoot videos 0f 1080p@30fps.

For the rear camera, we have quad camera setup. This consists of 64MP (wide) + 8MP (telephoto) + 8MP (ultrawide) + 2MP (depth) lenses. With these quad-camera lenses, you can shoot videos 2160p@30fps, 1080p@30fps, 720p@960fps, gyro-EIS. These rear camera lenses are aligned vertically in a rectangular box. Looking at the camera setup, this will remind you of Vivo V17. Both of them have similar camera lens alignment.

Performance, Software, and Battery

Powering the Honor 30S HiSilicon Kirin 820 5G (7 nm) is coupled with 8GB of RAM. For the GPU we have Mali-G57 6. The 6GB RAM is coupled with 128 GB and 256GB internal storage. The 128GB variant is expandable up to 256GB using nano memory.

Honor 30S runs on Android 10.0 with Android Open Source Project (AOSP) and Huawei Mobile Services alongside Magic UI 3.1. It’s fueled by a massive 4000mAh battery that supports 40-watt fast charging. This will result in a 70% charge within 30 minutes. For the charging, we have standard USB Type-C.  Black, Blue, Green, and Gradient are the available color variants.

Honor 30S seems overall a good device. The 64MP rear quad camera setup, 4000mAh battery, glass body, 40-watt fast charging all are packed under the hood of Honor 30S. This device was recently announced. It is expected the market in June 2020. The expected price of Honor 30S in India is INR 25,490. Although there is no official confirmation on the price and availability of this device in Nepal. But it is expected to arrive soon after the release.
